Brief: Aegon makes buying a term plan easy through its digital first interface. So on World Left Hander’s Day, we wanted to prove it.
Idea: Establish that buying term plan with Aegon is Baaen Haath Ka Khel. How?
David Attenborough style.
Execution: Film
Title: #Leftie
---
MVO: What do we have here?
Visual: Film opens on a guy lying on bed. He wakes up and sits.
MVO: Looks like a left-handed human.....Oof! Those are rare!
Visual: We cut to the guy brushing his teeth with left hand.
MVO: These creatures live a rather interesting life.
Visual: We cut to the guy struggling to button up his shirt while getting ready.
MVO: One full of bitter struggles, disappointments and forever tensions.
Visual: We cut to the guy sitting at the breakfast table and nudging his son’s elbow with his left hand. His son gives him an angry look.
MVO: Typically the human day lasts 24 hrs, but this left-handed male doesn’t feel so,
Visual: We cut to the guy struggling with scissor to cut open a cereal box.
MVO: After taking forever to get breakfast.
Visual: We cut to the guy keeping the cereal box down after successfully taking some and then looking at the un-opened milk tetra pack.
MVO: I am certainly excited to see what unfolds in his day.
Visual: We cut to the guy picking up his office bag and leaving for the day.
MVO: Even though the left-handed human seems to be playing it cool,
Visual: We cut to the guy concluding a well done presentation. Clients and bosses in the conference room clap for him.
MVO: He’s possibly having the toughest time at the moment.
Visual: We cut to the guy being approached to shake his right hand. He slides his left hand in his pocket to control it and tries to maintain a straight face while shaking hands.
MVO: Classic leftie!
Visual: We cut to a close up of his agonised face.
MVO: Studies suggest that these humans tend to be more creative.
Visual: We cut to him picking up a colleague’s guitar and taking a minute to adjust with his left hand.
MVO: Sure. It is more than evident.
Visual: Plays an extremely awkward tune and keeps it back.
MVO: But like they say, creativity comes from adversity.
Visual: We cut to a back view of the guy sitting and working on the computer.
MVO: Because the world isn’t so easy for our poor lefty human.
Visual: We cut to a top view where we see the guy using the mouse and keyboard of his office computer, with his hands awkwardly crossed.
MVO: And as the day full of struggles, dawns upon him,
Visual: We cut to the guy struggling to punch his metro card at the exit, which is on the right side. Even drops the card while switching hands.
MVO: Our left-handed human heads home.
Visual: We cut to the guy successfully getting through and walking out.
MVO: As he lays in his nest,
Visual: We cut to the guy reaching home and falling on the couch. His son is playing games on playstation.
MVO: He wonders how his species trivialise the difficulties of his life as “Baaen Haath ka Khel.”
Visual: We cut to the guy playfully taking the controller from his son. He plays awkwardly using his left hand to press 'X’ repeatedly.
MVO: But it is only him, a left-handed human that understands,
Visual: We cut to his phone buzzing, which he picks and finds a Term Plan renewal message.
MVO: There is only one true “Baaen Haath Ka Khel”,
Visual: He pauses the game and renews his Term Plan instantly, easily.
MVO: And that is buying and renewing Term Plans with Aegon.
Visual: We cut to the guy smiling and keeping his phone aside and resuming his game.
MVO: Aegon toh tension gone.
Visual: Aegon logo.
